Physicians and medical professionals will learn to identify a rational sequence of treatment of muscle imbalance and utilize special tests to identify muscle imbalance and patterns specific to the upper and lower crossed syndromes. They will learn to advise patients to correctly balance re-training and to correctly stretch hypertonic/facilitated muscles. They will learn how to teach patients how to re-train inhibited muscles and abnormal muscle firing patterns.
This session will review the current definitions and subtypes or irritable bowel syndrome as well as common treatment options that are available. The association between irritable bowel syndrome and obesity will also be reviewed.
Dr. Lucore will explore the incidence and prevalence of childhood trauma in the United States. She will define adverse childhood events and the effects that they have on children. She will discuss prevention strategies and approaches that physicians can use in their practice to deal with this population. She will conclude her lecture by discussing resources that individuals and communities can use to care for at-risk children.
