As a Commissioning, Controls, and MEP Project Manager for ARCO/Murray, Joe leads the company’s Controls & Commissioning division based out of Chicago, IL. Over his career in construction, he has led design, construction management, and commissioning efforts on various industrial, institutional, high-rise residential and commercial, and controlled environments projects. His team lends their engineering, building automation, and commissioning expertise to support ARCO’s Controlled Environments projects throughout design, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.

His team specializes in designing controls systems for cultivation and MEP infrastructure in greenhouses, indoor grow facilities, and vertical farms. During construction, he provides oversight for the controls implementation in collaboration with ARCO’s construction teams to ensure the design intent is effectively communicated. His team of commissioning specialists functionally test all MEP and cultivation equipment with the controls systems, focusing on system operation, capacity, and resiliency. Following building turnover, Joe and his team provide data monitoring and analytics services, focusing on maximizing yields and minimizing energy usage using a scientific, data-driven approach.
